Job summary

Houston Community College (HCC) seeks a Part Time Technician to support the COE-Digital & Information Technology Lab across district locations. You will install and troubleshoot instructional software, maintain lab hardware, and manage inventory to keep labs running smoothly.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, an Associate’s degree preferred, and 1 year of related work experience. You must be able to lift 50 pounds and travel to nearby campuses as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• 1 year directly related work experience may be substituted in lieu of educational requirement.

Responsibilities

• Install and provide troubleshooting of instructional software in DIT labs following license requirements and standards.
• Maintain district-wide hardware and software needs aligned with policies, security standards, and product requirements.
• Maintain lab standards by monitoring labs for policy issues and safety hazards.
• Assist in the maintenance of equipment inventory for assigned area(s).
• Assist with internal and external events as needed by the department, COE, and Workforce Technology initiatives across district.
• Keep abreast of current technology and apply new skills as needed by COE and Workforce Technology activities across district.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
• May relocate to a different campus and change assignments as required.
