Job summary

Houston Community College is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist (Part Time) to support faculty in delivering courses and manage testing, mailings, and lab activities. This role handles confidential student records and liaises with instructors and students in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, with an Associate degree preferred, and 2 years of office experience (3 preferred).

Qualifications

• Proficiency in basic computer skills such as word and spreadsheet applications.
• Able to maintain laboratory equipment.
• Able to adapt to lab policy and procedural changes.
• Good written, oral communication and organizational skills.
• Excellent proofreading practices and skills.
• Generate statistical analyses reports of student performance.
• Basic understanding of test performance indices.
• Able to work well in a fast-paced environment with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Good customer service skills over the phone.
• Good technology troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of learning management systems.
• Knowledge of information management systems preferred.
• Able to work in different shifts. Competencies of hardware/software skills may be demonstrated during interview.

• Assist with asset management and lab activity supervision.
