Job summary

Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH, is seeking a part-time Switchboard PBX Operator to staff the Telecommunication Office. Qualifications

• High School Graduate / GED required.
• 1 year hospital switchboard/communications experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate telecommunication systems to answer, assess, and route calls.
• Respond to and manage emergency requests and alarms.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace in the telecommunication office.
• Ensure confidentiality of all employee, physician, and patient information.
• Operate ARC Console Suite to provide information and directions.
• Act as an informational resource regarding all departments and services.
• Work with Admissions, Security, Valet Service, and Patient Transport Services.
• Answer all incoming calls from the general public, patients, physicians, and staff.
• Route calls to the appropriate location as directed by department guidelines.
• Utilize the public address system for emergency notifications and routine announcements.
• Assist staff, physicians, and patients in placing outgoing calls.
• Monitor and take action with security and facility alarms.
• Keep current of all Inter-department communications through department, and hospital-wide email, Shift Reports, Operator Notes in SharePoint, memos, hospital publications, and verbal report between shifts from colleagues.
• Participate in assigned role in disaster drills and other emergency situations.
• Follow specific guidelines related to the Daily Shift Duties.
