Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Switchboard Operator in the Communications department for a 32-hour schedule (Tuesday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.). You will answer calls, page staff, and manage telecommunication systems with Meridian and Xtend, delivering professional service to patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone/paging and other telecommunication services using Meridian and Xtend.
• Provide superior customer service to internal and external clients, patients and staff.
• Manage on-call schedules, monitor the Wandering System, issue beepers, and maintain telephone logs.
• Process calls regarding Interpreter Services and TDD.
• Act as Security Dispatch and Patient Information during off-hours.
