Job summary

Stormont Vail Health is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to provide blood collection services in the acute care hospital setting, including ED/Trauma and medical floors. You will also handle order management, venipuncture, capillary puncture, and point-of-care testing.

Responsibilities include EMR order handling, adherence to safety standards, training support for trainees, and occasional travel to other locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; phlebotomy training preferred.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program may substitute education.
• Experience with phlebotomy required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and identify blood specimens via venipuncture or capillary puncture for all ages.
• Access, select, release and print test orders from EMR.
• Transcribe outside orders into EMR as needed.
• Process specimens following established procedures.
• Prepare specimens for transport per IATA regulations.
• Perform waived point-of-care tests and document results.
• Maintain quality and safety standards and respond to patient questions.
