Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED required; completed phlebotomy program preferred.
• Experience with phlebotomy.
• Preferred experience in a lab or hospital setting; venipuncture and capillary puncture experience.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records and patient privacy.

Aufgaben

• Obtain and identify blood specimens via venipuncture and capillary puncture across age groups in hospital and long-term care settings.
• Prioritize specimen collection, including STAT and timed collections; perform point of care testing.
• Access and release orders from the EMR, resolve unusual or duplicate orders.
• Travel to Stormont Vail locations as needed; follow all safety and infection prevention guidelines.
• Mentor phlebotomy interns and trainees and assist with teaching.
