Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and operational support for funeral services and cremations. You will help with setup, guest assistance, and information provision to families in a compassionate manner.

This Part-time role expects involvement in visitations, services, and may include driving duties; MS Office skills and a high school diploma are preferred. 401(k) eligibility applies where allowed by policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in customer service or sales preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office and databases; willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for services: deliver and set up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, and keepsakes.
• Prepare service documents for services, cremations, maintenance as directed by management.
• Assist with dressing and lifting remains, and operation of crematory as permitted by law.
• Answer phones, operate office equipment including fax, computer, multi-line phone system, debit machines.
• Run errands for floral delivery, supplies, and documents.
• Serve as usher, assist with transportation and parking as needed.
• Drive funeral home vehicles for services and family transport.
• Ensure refreshments are available as allowed by law.
• Assist with visitations and funeral services, including setup and delivery of items.
• Greet families and provide information and assistance to clients.
