Job summary

Regional Medical Imaging, P.C. in Flint, MI seeks a part-time Check-In Representative to manage patient check-ins, verify demographics and insurance, and input data into RIS and other systems. You will assist with scheduling, HIPAA compliance, collect payments, and support multiple departments while traveling between sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a similar role or customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients for exams, verify DOB, insurance, and that the exam ordered matches physician order; enter data into RIS and other software; scan documents.
• Assist patients with obtaining medical records while complying with HIPAA.
• Help patients complete kiosk questions and other forms for their appointment(s).
• Use computers with advanced technology skills and adapt to change.
• Ensure insurance estimates are accurate and address errors before check-in.
• Collect copays, coinsurance, and deductibles; balance cash drawer; run end-of-day cash reports.
• Maintain clean work area and waiting areas; ensure patient privacy and CDC PPE guidelines.
• Provide information to patients; answer questions; assist with scheduling and referrals as needed.
• Monitor arrivals via Virtual/Express Check-In to ensure timely check-in.
• Assist in Express Check-In by calling patients to confirm information.
• Confirm appointments and optimize schedules; coordinate with tech staff.
• Be flexible to travel to other sites as needed.
• Maintain professional environment and respectful communication.
• Attend meetings and training; some outside regular hours.
• Supports mission, vision, and values of the corporation.
