Job summary

Barnes & Noble College in Huntington, WV, is seeking a resourceful, customer-focused part-time Supervisor to support the management team and oversee store operations.

You’ll coach sales floor teams, ensure outstanding service, manage daily activities, and keep departments properly merchandised while upholding loss prevention and safety standards. This role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with prior retail experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in retail preferred.
• Outstanding customer service to match customers to products.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Coach on the sales floor to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Train and oversee daily work activities of team members in one or more departments.
• Maintain knowledge of store operations and assist during peak periods.
• Enforce loss prevention procedures and keep area merchandised and store operational.
• Provide guidance and support to customers and staff.
• Act as Manager-on-Duty in the absence of store management or at satellite locations.
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating to meet store needs.
