Job summary

The Salvation Army in Michigan is seeking a Part-time Family Store Assistant Manager to support day-to-day operations and assist customers. You will work with store associates and act as manager in the manager’s absence, guiding staff, promoting a great customer experience, and ensuring policy compliance.

Responsibilities include supervising clerks, training new personnel, banking cash, attending staff meetings, and reporting hazards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent (required).
• Minimum 2 years retail sales experience.
• Must have and maintain a current valid chauffer’s license and pass the Salvation Army MVR check.
• Complete Safe From Harm training and keep current.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising clerks to ensure policy compliance.
• Help train new personnel and support staff meetings.
• Assist with cash receipts banking and reporting to the appropriate personnel.
• Lead customer development and retention efforts for a positive experience.
• Report safety hazards and protect people, property, and building.
• Report to Manager any detrimental clerk behavior; perform other duties as assigned.
