Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time Family Store Associate in Michigan to provide excellent customer service, operate the cash register, and maintain store cleanliness and security. The role involves assisting customers, processing donations, pricing items, and supporting display setup in a friendly retail environment.

Flexibility is required to cover schedules. Prior retail experience is preferred; basic computer skills and ability to perform routine math are important for handling cash

Qualifications

• Must be available for a flexible schedule.
• Ability to operate a cash register, perform routine mathematical computations, and count change.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers purchasing items via the POS system.
• Operates cash register, accepts payment and makes change; bags merchandise.
• Prepare and balance the cash drawer; assist in deposits.
• Maintain cleanliness and security of the store area.
• Price unmarked items and set up displays to promote sales.
• Assist customers donating items and arrange store merchandise.
• Answer phones professionally and maintain inviting store appearance.
