You will assist with eye tests, administer eye drops, and support minor procedures while maintaining HIPAA-compliant records and providing patient education. Occasional travel to Kalamazoo may be required.

Qualifications

• Greet patients and explain what to expect during their visit.
• Enter patient information into EMR and maintain records.
• Assist with eye tests and minor procedures; explain post-op instructions.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients to gather information and enter it into EMR.
• Explain visit expectations and communicate delays or changes to patients.
• Record chief complaints, history, and updates in the medical chart.
• Enter data into EMR per established standards and physician requirements.
• Conduct tests of eye muscles, pupil size, and reactivity.
• Apply eye drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes.
• Assist with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections, and laser treatments.
• Educate patients on medications and post-operative instructions.
• Scribe for physicians and protect patient confidentiality under HIPAA.
• Demonstrate knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, and medications.
• Stay current with technologies and answer general patient questions.
• Support team and complete special projects as requested.
