Job summary

Grand Rapids Ophthalmology in Walker, MI is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support physicians with patient testing and exam preparation. You will operate instruments (OCT, visual fields, keratometry) and document findings in the EMR, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

This full-time role requires HIPAA compliance, strong communication, and the ability to travel to other offices as needed; weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum required: High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of related experience and/or training.
• Current COA/COT certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients professionally and facilitate clinic flow.
• Assist ophthalmologist with testing and patient prep.
• Operate tests such as visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor, and topography.
• Record data accurately in the EMR and verify patient information.
• Prepare patients for treatments and monitor vital signs as required.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and adhere to HIPAA.
• Travel to other Grand Rapids Ophthalmology offices as needed.
