Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and enter information into EMR accurately.
• Explain what to expect to patients and communicate delays or changes.
• Document chief complaint, illness, and medical history.
• Record information in EMR per standards and physician requirements.
• Conduct tests of eye function and pupil reactivity.
• Apply eye drops for anesthesia, dilation or meds.
• Assist with minor surgery, injections, and laser procedures.
• Educate patients on meds and pre/postoperative care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• De-escalate dissatisfied patients with problem solving.
• Stay current on eye anatomy, diseases and medications.
• Answer general patient questions and support team projects.
