Job summary

Virginia Beach Sports Center is seeking an Operations Team Member to assist with converting the facility for concerts, basketball games, banquets, meetings and family shows. This part-time role supports the Operations department and aids in safe, efficient event preparations.

You’ll work with a team to set up and take down courts and equipment, respond to guest needs, and help maintain facility systems. Flexibility, clear communication, and a teamwork mindset are essential to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Convert the facility to concerts, basketball games, banquets, meetings and family shows.
• Assist with event-oriented preparation/setup for shows or sporting events to run safely and efficiently.
• Setup and take down of basketball courts, staging, risers, and other event-related items.
• Assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of department equipment such as seating risers, basketball floor and hoops, dressing room furniture, etc.
• Assist during events responding to radio requests for setup, removal, and/or repair of risers and dept. equipment.
• Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests and to provide answers and directions as needed.
• Be responsive to guest concerns and direct to appropriate manager to resolve.
• Responsible for working with a team to convert and prepare the facility for events.
• Complete special projects, daily assignments and other duties as directed by management.
• Exemplify the facility's policies and procedures to all staff and guests.
