Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional - Elementary Special Education to support students with special needs in the resource classroom. This non-contract, 20 hours per week position offers an hourly rate of $15.69–$16.70 depending on training and lane advancement.

Responsibilities include adapting activities, assisting with IEP goals, monitoring behavior, and providing clerical support to teachers while safeguarding student welfare.

Qualifications

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs of students.
• Assists data collection under the direction of the assigned teacher for the purpose of monitoring student progress.
• Maintains instructional materials and/or manual and electronic files/records and classroom equipment, work area, etc.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities to support IEP goals.
• Administers first aid as needed to students.
• Assists with tests, homework and make-up work to support teachers.
• Monitors student behavior and safety in various school settings.
• Provides instruction to students in group or individual settings to reinforce learning.
• Reports observations to instructional staff regarding student progress and incidents.
