Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must complete mandatory employee training within the first 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and materials to support objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional.
• Administers tests, homework, make-up work to support teachers.
• Assists data collection to monitor student progress.
• Assists students with self-care activities to maintain personal hygiene.
• Assists students in lessons to reinforce learning concepts and standards.
• Attends trainings/meetings to acquire and convey job information.
• Communicates with supervising staff to evaluate progress and IEP/504 objectives.
• Demonstrates appropriate role modeling for student development of social behavior.
• Implements behavioral plans identified in student IEPs.
• Maintains instructional materials and records for mandated requirements.
• Monitors students during assigned periods to ensure safe environment.
• Performs clerical duties to ensure efficient operations.
• Provides instruction to students in various activities to reinforce objectives and IEP/504 plans.
• Reports observations related to students to appropriate personnel.
• Supervises and escorts students to/from classes for safe learning environment.
