Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional - Secondary for a non-contract, 3 hours-per-day role. The position involves working one-on-one with a student under 504 accommodations and may include occasional toileting help.

Lane pay ranges from $15.61 to $16.62 per hour depending on training level. Candidate will assist in implementing IEP/504 plans, monitor student behavior, and provide clerical support to teachers.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to adapt classroom activities under teacher direction.
• Provides immediate first aid and basic health assistance per health guidelines.
• Monitors student progress and supports instruction in various tasks.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and materials to support objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers immediate first aid and basic health assistance as instructed by health professionals.
• Administers tests, homework, make-up work to support teachers in the classroom.
• Assists data collection to monitor student progress.
• Assists students with self-care activities to maintain personal hygiene.
• Assists students individually or in groups with lessons to reinforce learning concepts.
• Attends trainings and meetings for job function updates.
• Communicates with supervising staff to evaluate progress and implement IEP/504 objectives.
• Demonstrates appropriate role modeling for social and interpersonal development.
• Implements behavioral plans identified in student IEPs.
• Maintains materials and classroom records and equipment.
• Monitors students during assigned periods to maintain safe environment.
• Performs clerical duties to ensure smooth operations.
• Provides instruction to students in individual or group activities to reinforce objectives and IEP/504 plans.
• Reports observations and incidents to appropriate staff.
• Supervises and escorts students to/from classes for safety.
