Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional to support the elementary math program in Deerfield. This non-contract, 4-hour day, 4-day week role focuses on assisting in the supervision, care, and instruction of special needs students in the resource classroom.

Responsibilities include adapting activities, providing in-class assistance, monitoring behavior, and supporting instructional plans. Training opportunities are available in-district to advance to lane 6 pay.

Qualifications

• Age 16+
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must complete mandatory employee training within the first 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher for reinforcing objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed for health care needs of students.
• Administers tests, homework, make-up work, etc. to support teachers in the classroom.
• Assists data collection to monitor student progress.
• Assists students with self-care activities to maintain personal hygiene.
• Provides instruction to students in individual and group activities to reinforce concepts and meet IEP/504 goals.
• Communicates with supervising staff to evaluate progress and implement objectives.
• Maintains instructional materials and records and classroom equipment.
