Job summary

IU Health in Indiana is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to deliver compassionate bedside care, assist with meals, hydration, mobility, baths, and provide clean linens and gowns to patients in busy units.

The PCA supports the bedside RN by taking vital signs, reporting changes promptly, and maintaining safety protocols, infection control, and a calm, caring demeanor in a fast-paced environment to ensure a phenomenal patient experience.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of care appropriate to patient age and development.
• Knowledge of procedures, equipment, software and standards related to patient care activities.
• Ability to exercise judgment and manage a high workload within time limits.
• Ability to read and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care and assist with meals, baths, mobility, and linens.
• Support bedside RN by obtaining vital signs and reporting changes promptly.
• Maintain infection control and safety to ensure patient safety in a fast-paced environment.
