Job summary

Prescott School Elementary in Oakland, CA seeks an Early Literacy Tutor to support TK–2 students with targeted reading instruction for 6 hours per day (.80 FTE). This part-time role is posted for the 2026-27 school year under the Oakland Unified School District.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Speak, read, write and understand English fluently.
• Computer skills including online databases and email daily.
• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Energetic, results‑oriented, student‑focused style with strong planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide literacy instruction for TK–2 students with a focus on early reading skills.
• Collaborate with teachers and coaches to plan and monitor progress.
• Use progress monitoring data to inform instruction and adjustments.
• Record student performance data in an online system weekly.
• Participate in site trainings and staff meetings as required.
