Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health is seeking a part-time Critical Care Technician to assist with activities of daily living and support the RN team in a medical-surgical unit. The role emphasizes patient safety, documentation, and patient education for families, with rotations on evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of clinical experience in hospital care
• High School diploma or GED required
• Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and active PCT certification required
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• CPCT-A or CPT or ACMA certifications accepted
• Part-time days, 24 hours per week, 7a-7:30p with weekend/holidays rotation

Responsibilities

• Support patients’ activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, transport) and follow standard precautions
• Perform technical duties as directed by RN (phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, EKGs, Foley catheter care) and document appropriately
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN and respond appropriately, maintaining safe patient practices
• Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives, performance improvement activities, and assist in orienting new hires
• Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the required due date
• Consistently adhere to safety protocols and quality standards to ensure a safe environment and high-quality patient care
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, visitors, and coworkers
