Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health in Camden, NJ seeks a Critical Care Tech II to support the nursing team and assist patients with activities of daily living. This role emphasizes direct patient contact, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with physicians and staff.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, vital signs, EKGs, Foley care, and assisting with patient education. Successful PCT training and BLS are required, with shifts including evenings and nights.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and active Patient Care Technician Certification is required.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Excellent communication with patients, families and coworkers is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, transport) as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, EKGs and Foley catheter care as directed by RN, with proper documentation.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN and respond appropriately.
• Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and quality improvement activities; assist in orienting new hires.
• Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the due date.
• Maintain safety protocols to ensure a safe environment and high-quality patient care.
• Demonstrate effective communication with patients, visitors and coworkers.
