Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health seeks a Critical Care Tech to support acute care teams under an RN. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient status, and perform technical tasks such as phlebotomy, vital signs, EKGs, and point-of-care testing.

A patient‑centered approach and strong communication with patients, families and staff are essential. 0–2 years of experience, high school or GED, and PCT training with active certification are required.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical support role.
• High School or GED and completed Patient Care Technician training with active certification.
• AHA BLS certification required; CPCT-A certification preferred or to be completed.
• Strong communication with patients, families and healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Support patients’ activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility).
• Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, EKGs, Foley catheter care and document.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN and respond appropriately.
• Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and orientation of new hires.
• Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by due date.
• Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe environment and high-quality care.
• Demonstrate effective communication with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
