Job Summary

Provides in-person, virtual, and/or synchronous instruction and support to adult learners enrolled in Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs designed to prepare students for college and career pathways. Instruction may include one or more career training pathways such as Medical Administrative Assisting, National Retail Federation credentials, Business, Information Technology, Workforce Readiness, Student Success, and other Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs offered through Rio Salado College and its partner colleges. Develops students' academic, digital literacy, workplace, and career readiness skills while supporting successful completion of career training, High School Equivalency (HSE), and/or English language acquisition goals. Follows required curriculum aligned with Arizona Adult Education Standards, local workforce needs, and Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) Fields of Interest. Utilizes and integrates technology in the classroom to support instruction, monitor student progress, and promote successful transition to postsecondary education and employment. Provides case management support for students, including referring students to appropriate resources, monitoring individual progress and needs, and collaborating with colleagues and support staff to promote student success and retention. Engages in student assessments, progress data review, and attendance record maintenance to guide instruction, retain students, and meet grant program requirements. Participates in professional learning to maintain Arizona Adult Education Certification.

Essential Functions

70% - Provides in-person, virtual, and/or synchronous instruction in Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs using approved instructional methodologies. Delivers standards-based, contextualized curriculum aligned with Arizona Adult Education Standards through classroom preparation, curriculum implementation, assessment and/or grading, and meaningful student feedback. Provides instruction or instructional support in one or more assigned career pathways, which may include Medical Administrative Assisting, National Retail Federation credentials, Business, Information Technology, Workforce Readiness, Student Success, and other approved IET programs. Incorporates digital literacy and technology integration throughout instruction while utilizing the designated Learning Management System (LMS), approved instructional technologies, and partner college learning platforms to deliver and manage instructional content. Supports students through individualized coaching, assignment completion, study strategies, online course navigation, and career and college readiness activities that promote persistence and successful program completion. 10% - Monitors student academic and career training progress through required assessments, ongoing review of student performance, and individualized support. Maintains awareness of career training, industry credentials, and postsecondary opportunities while providing appropriate referrals and resources to support student transition and success. 10% - Maintains accurate attendance, assessment, instructional, and student support records, including synchronous instruction, Learning Management System (LMS) participation, required program documentation, and other records necessary to meet Arizona Adult Education grant requirements and program outcomes. 10% - Engages in required professional learning and job-embedded training to maintain Arizona Adult Education Certification requirements; participates in program meetings as assigned; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A. Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
B. Experience teaching in one of more of the following: English, ESL, Language Arts, Reading
C. Must hold or obtain a valid Arizona Adult Education teaching certificate (which includes AZDPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card) from the Arizona Department of Education within 60 days of the hire date.

Desired Qualifications

A. Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution
