Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) seeks a Maintenance Operations Technician at Rio Salado Community College to perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on facilities, utilities, equipment, and grounds.

Performs maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to enable proper operation and preservation of buildings, utilities, equipment, grounds, vehicles and facilities. Works independently but capable of performing complex building maintenance services including assisting trades workers with small tasks in the areas of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC.
70% - Performs a variety of maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance activities to support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of facilities, equipment, and associated systems. Responsibilities include inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing facility components and systems, as well as performing routine maintenance on irrigation systems, fleet vehicles, furniture, fixtures, and other assigned equipment. Maintains an adequate inventory of commonly used small parts, supplies, tools, and materials necessary to complete the majority of routine maintenance and repair tasks assigned to the section. Maintains responsibility for the proper care, organization, and security of assigned tools and equipment. Ensures tools and equipment are accounted for, properly stored, and secured at the end of each work shift and reports damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment as appropriate.
20% - Inspects facilities, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance needs, deficiencies, damage, or conditions requiring repair or replacement. Provides sufficient information regarding the condition of the item and the work required to assist with determining the appropriate course of action.
10% - Provides support and assistance with projects performed by outside contractors, including helping coordinate access, preparing work areas, monitoring assigned activities, and assisting with related tasks as directed. Works collaboratively with skilled trades personnel and other maintenance staff by providing assistance with their assigned projects, repairs, installations, and maintenance activities as needed. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of the overall maintenance and operational needs of the section.
Completion of formal or informal education sufficient to demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively at the level required to successfully perform the job duties, and one (1) year of building maintenance experience or other related experience consistent with the duties described.
Special Requirements
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Possession of a valid State of Arizona Driver License (Class D)
Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense. Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations. May require numerous evenings or weekends. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen. May be required to lift or carry up to #25 lbs.
