Job summary

The Student Union, Inc. at San Jose State University is seeking an Events and Programs Assistant to help plan, organize, and execute campus-wide events.

You will assist with equipment setup, check-in, safety, and facility supervision, while fostering an inclusive environment and supporting staff and participants. Under supervision of the Manager of Events and Programs, you will attend staff meetings, participate in training, and contribute to program evaluation.

Qualifications

• Must be detail oriented, organized, and have excellent communication skills.
• Must possess the ability to set and meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks at a time.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organization and execution of campus-wide events and activities, including setup and teardown.
• Provide excellent customer service to attendees and enforce facility rules.
• Communicate effectively with staff and patrons.
• Attend meetings and trainings; participate in committees as required.
• Support Information Center with at least 1 shift per week.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
