Job summary

The Student Union, Inc. at San Jose State University is seeking a hands-on Setup Crew member under the Event Center Operations Manager.

You will execute event setups and breakdowns, maintain space cleanliness, load and unload equipment, and support on-site turnover for campus and external events, following safety procedures.

This is a fast-paced, team-oriented role with opportunities to assist with large-scale events as needed.

Responsibilities

• Execute event setups and breakdowns per diagrams and instructions (tables, chairs, staging, etc.)
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of event spaces and storage areas
• Load/unload equipment and support event turnover and transitions
• Assist with minor equipment checks and report damages or inventory shortages
• Provide on-site event support as directed (restocking, monitoring, resetting spaces)
• Follow safety procedures and support a positive team environment
• Occasionally assist with large-scale campus or external events (e.g., commencements, concerts, orientations)
