Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking compassionate substitute teachers to support LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis. You will implement prepared lesson plans and maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment in line with LifeWise policies.

Ideal candidates demonstrate a mature Christian faith, active church involvement, and strong communication skills to serve as ambassadors in the community while supporting teachers and students.

Qualifications

• Mature Christian faith aligned with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active church participation aligned with LifeWise beliefs.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training.
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis.
• Implement the lesson plans using the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures.
• Follow the program's student discipline policy.
• Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom.
• Know procedures for emergency situations.
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community.
• Communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and assign duties.
• Communicate with the teacher.
