Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking substitute teachers who demonstrate excellence in Biblical knowledge and teaching abilities. The ideal candidate is an active church participant with strong communication and interpersonal skills, caring and perceptive in working with students.

The role is part-time and non-exempt, focusing on delivering LifeWise lessons, following provided curricula, and maintaining a safe, organized classroom while coordinating with teachers and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training.
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis.
• Implement the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures.
• Follow the program's student discipline policy.
• Maintain attendance records and provide them to the teacher.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom; know emergency procedures.
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community.
• Communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and with the teacher.
