Job summary

Fastenal is seeking a Part-time Sales Associate for the Fairbanks, AK branch at 3501 Lathrop St. You will engage customers, source new business, and promote inventory management solutions using a consultative approach while supporting daily branch operations.

The role requires strong communication, basic math, and a drive to sell. You will lift 25–50 lbs (up to 75 lbs) and may drive locally to customer sites in a fast-paced industrial supply environment.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older and holds a valid driver's license with ability to meet driving requirements.
• Possess or are pursuing a degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Management or related field OR have customer service or industry-related work experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills and a strong aptitude for sales.
• Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented.
• Demonstrate math aptitude, organization and prioritization abilities.
• Pass the required drug screen where applicable.
• Demonstrate core values of ambition, integrity and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Supporting B2B sales and customer service activities.
• Providing value through a consultative sales approach.
• Developing new and growing existing relationships from leads and referrals.
• Coordinating resources to respond to customer service needs.
• Performing local sales calls driving a company vehicle to customer sites.
• Performing other duties to ensure branch success.
