Family Dollar in Warren, Ohio is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations and customer service while developing the team. You will assist with merchandising, onboarding, and loss prevention, and help ensure safety and policy compliance.

The role emphasizes leading Store Associates, maintaining a clean, well-stocked environment, and delivering friendly, professional service to customers in a busy retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform related physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling, and support loss prevention.
• Keep sales floor and stockroom well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
