Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Ohio LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. Responsibilities include assisting with daily store activities, organizing merchandise, and supporting the Store Manager in training associates.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, strong communication and a customer-focused mindset. This on-site, part-time position offers opportunities for growth and exposure to retail operations workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail/grocery/drug store preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Move merchandise from delivery to stockroom and floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and fixtures.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and follow safety guidelines.
• Support Store Manager in supervising and training associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment and professional interactions.
• Keep store clean and presentable; empty trash and restock bathrooms.
• Other duties as assigned.
