Job summary

Family Dollar in Canton, OH is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day functions, organize merchandise, and ensure a clean, welcoming store environment.

You will support the Store Manager, supervise Associates, and help maintain promotional displays and stock levels while upholding safety policies and company procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience managing retail or grocery teams preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Provide friendly customer service and handle questions or concerns.
• Organize merchandise transfer from delivery to stockroom and floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store displays and promotional fixtures.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect company assets including cash and adhere to safety policies.
• Support Store Manager in supervising and developing Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store including bathrooms and floors.
