Job summary

Dollar Tree in Tampa is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with opening/closing, organize merchandise from delivery to floor, and help supervise and train store associates.

The role requires strong communication, ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and the energy to work in a fast-paced retail environment. Part-time position with benefits including EAP, retirement plans and educational assistance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, maintaining records including payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and clean, secure all assets including cash.
• Ensure policies and safety guidelines are followed by associates.
• Help supervise, train and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful store environment.
• Keep bathrooms and store areas clean and presentable.
• Other duties as assigned.
