Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, and contribute to a well-run, welcoming retail environment.

You should have strong communication and organizational skills, with a track record in customer service and teamwork. This position is part time and involves lifting up to 55 lbs and working in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred or required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines; ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including restrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
