Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. This role focuses on delivering a positive shopping experience and guiding coworkers in daily tasks.

You will assist with merchandise flow, openings and closings, payroll and scheduling support, loss prevention, and maintaining clean, well-stocked areas. The position emphasizes leadership, safety, and a friendly, professional environment for customers and associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications related to activities.
• Maintain store fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
