Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure seasonal areas are well maintained. You will participate in opening and closing procedures, follow corporate directives, supervise and train store associates, safeguard assets, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Retail store management experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications for store activities.
• Maintain store fixtures and displays and ensure promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, records including payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable; handle bathrooms, floors, trash, and general upkeep.
• Other duties as assigned.
