Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced environment. You will assist with daily functions, help organize merchandise, and ensure a clean, well-stocked store while maintaining safety and policy compliance.

Roles include supervising and training store associates, managing open/close procedures, and supporting loss prevention efforts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follows procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
