Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, assist customers, and help develop a high-performing team. You will coordinate merchandising, help with opening and closing procedures, and ensure a clean, inviting sales floor.

In this role you will implement corporate directives, manage payroll and scheduling with accuracy, and uphold safety and loss-prevention standards while delivering friendly, professional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and information requests related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store-fronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines; ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable; handle bathrooms, floors, trash, and general upkeep.
• Accept other duties as assigned.
