Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service and team development. This role supports the Store Manager in daily functions, helps customers, organizes merchandise, and ensures the store remains clean and well stocked.

You will participate in opening and closing procedures, process corporate directives, supervise and train associates, and uphold safety and loss prevention standards while delivering friendly, efficient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor, maintaining seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts; support loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Follow safety guidelines and company policies; supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain store cleanliness including restrooms, floors, and trash removal.
