Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our California location. You will assist with day-to-day functions, help customers, organize merchandise, and support the Store Manager in training and supervising staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and frequent walking/standing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.

• Exceptional customer service, organization, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and ensure seasonal areas are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests and related communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas to company standards, including well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow policies and procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Keep the store clean, including restrooms, floors, and trash disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
