Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead in Katy, TX for a part-time role. You’ll supervise a licensed school-age enrichment program, keep children safe, coordinate daily operations, and implement the YMCA curriculum across before/after school schedules.

You’ll build relationships with families and school partners, ensure licensing compliance, manage attendance and sign-in/out, and lead a dedicated team to deliver high-quality, engaging activities while modeling safety and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 70 clock hours of training in child or youth development, recreational leadership or management.
• Two college courses equal 100 clock hours.
• Experience with youth in licensed childcare settings preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Background checks and FBI fingerprinting per state regulations.
• TB test and health screenings per state/local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead licensed after-school program operations and ensure children's safety and engagement.
• Coordinate daily activities, schedule, and curriculum implementation.
• Maintain licensing compliance and required postings.
• Build strong relationships with families, school partners, and YMCA staff.
• Maintain enrollment, attendance records, and sign-in/out procedures.
• Plan age-appropriate activities and program evaluation.
• Communicate with parents about child progress and concerns.
