Job summary

Decatur Shelby County YMCA in Greensburg, IN is seeking a Youth Program Coordinator to plan, implement, and coordinate afterschool and summer camp activities for elementary-aged children under the Director of Childcare.

You will supervise staff, partner with schools and families, and ensure licensing and safety requirements are met while delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate programming.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education preferred.
• Minimum of two years in out-of-school-time programming or working with school-age children.
• Minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
• CPR, AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
• Completion of trainings and background screenings for LLEP programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and oversee daily afterschool activities promoting academic, social, and emotional growth.
• Develop enrichment activities for students in grades K–8.
• Supervise program staff with leadership, training, and support.
• Maintain strong relationships with schools, families, and community partners.
• Plan family engagement activities and student showcases.
• Ensure a safe environment meeting risk management and licensing requirements.
• Support students with homework and academic tasks in a positive way.
• Follow YMCA youth safety policies and mandated reporting.
• Attend YMCA trainings and meetings as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Childcare.
