Job summary

YMCA of Western North Carolina is seeking a Program Coordinator to lead the Out-of-School Time program at a Marion facility. The role requires coordinating day-to-day operations, supervising youth participants, and ensuring activities comply with YMCA policies and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, 1+ year youth experience with leadership responsibilities, and be able to obtain a mini-bus certification.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have at least a High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with youth in educational or recreational settings with supervisory responsibilities.
• Within 120 days of employment, obtain NC School-Age Professional Scale level 4 or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to obtain mini-bus certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the out-of-school-time program.
• Provide daily supervision and activities for a group of program participants.
• Collaborate with the Youth Services Directors to ensure programs comply with policies and regulations.
• Create, complete, review, update, store, and maintain records as required.
• Provide orientation and ongoing support for staff, including group leaders, tutors, and volunteers.
• Coordinate with school administration, teachers, and community partners to meet participants' needs.
• Assess program supplies, venues, and staffing; address issues with Youth Services Directors.
• Plan and implement parent, family, and community engagement activities.
• Maintain regular parent communication through daily check-ins and newsletters.
• Follow protocols for incident and emergency response.
• Utilize standard software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and hardware for tasks.
• Models inclusive behaviors and supports diversity.
