Job summary

Crossroads YMCA in Hobart, IN is seeking a School Age Coordinator to oversee before- and after-school care and camp programs. You will lead curriculum, ensure safety, handle staffing, and collaborate with families and community partners.

The role requires 2+ years working with children, CPR/First Aid within 30 days, strong communication, and proficiency with Office 365. This is a full-time, on-site position starting at $17 per hour, with experience-based pay increases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years related experience working with children of diverse ages and cultures.
• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid and New Employee Orientation.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Able to work independently and with minimal supervision. Organized and detail oriented.
• Adept computer skills in Office 365.
• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Operate before- and after-school programs and camp activities.
• Maintain staff supervision and train volunteers.
• Keep state records and reports up to date (CCDF, CACFP).
• Ensure consistent delivery of programming and procedures.
• Provide a nurturing atmosphere and safety for all participants.
• Maintain appropriate teacher to student ratios during programming.
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop team members.
• Conduct team member feedback, corrective actions, and evaluations.
