Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire is seeking a part-time youth mentor to support after-school programming from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, August through the school year, with potential summer work at camps.

The role emphasizes preparing youth for success, delivering engaging activities, ensuring safety, and coordinating with families and licensing authorities. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 600 hours of experience, and CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18+ and have 600 hours in a school-age program.
• Must have at least 3 credits in child development, education, recreation, or a related field.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior.
• Ability to communicate with parents/guardians.
• Ability to plan and implement quality youth programs.
• Occasional travel for meetings or trainings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Youth for Success by delivering age-appropriate activities.
• Orient new members to daily scheduling and program expectations.
• Provide guidance, role modeling, and constructive feedback.
• Demonstrate leadership with safety and licensing best practices.
• Track attendance and maintain program spaces.
• Develop and supervise programs to ensure safety and quality.
• Document issues with injury/incident reports and coordinate with licensing.
• Participate in staff meetings and communicate with families.
