Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern NH is seeking mentors for part-time after-school hours (1:00 pm to 6:00 pm) with a focus on youth development. Position runs Aug through end of school year, with potential summer camp work.

The role emphasizes safety, program delivery, and collaboration with families and staff. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 600 hours in a school-age setting, and at least 3 college credits in child development or related fields.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 600 hours of school-age program experience.
• At least 3 credits in child development or related field.
• Must be 18+ years old; 19+ may be assigned to senior program.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required for licensing compliance.
• Occasional travel and possible driving of Club van (21+).
• Must possess safe driving record and provide documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that facilitates Youth Development Outcomes.
• Encourage program participation with age-appropriate activities.
• Orient new members to daily scheduling and program rules.
• Provide guidance, role model behavior, and feedback to members.
• Lead with safety and licensing best practices; ensure proper conduct.
• Maintain attendance and space in good order; assist with upkeep.
• Administer and supervise programs, services, and activities.
• Monitor programs for safety, quality, and facility appearance.
• Track program outcomes and ensure cultural diversity considerations.
• Communicate with families and staff professionally; participate in staff meetings.
• Participate in special programs and events; other duties as assigned.
