Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern NH is seeking dedicated part-time youth program staff to support children after school and during possible summer camps. You will help implement educational, enrichment, and recreational activities from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years or older and have at least 600 hours in a school-age program.
• Must have documentation of at least 3 credits in child development, education, recreation, or related field.
• 19 years of age may be assigned to the senior program.
• Knowledge of youth development.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to communicate with parents/guardians.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications for licensing requirements.
• Occasional travel for meetings/trainings may be required.
• May be asked to drive Club van/short bus (21+).
• Must possess a safe driving record and provide it on request.

Responsibilities

• Creates an environment that facilitates Youth Development Outcomes and age-appropriate activities.
• Orientates new members to daily scheduling and program expectations.
• Provides guidance, role modeling, and constructive feedback to members.
• Demonstrates leadership with safety and licensing best practices.
• Keeps attendance records for assigned group.
• Maintains program space and equipment in good condition.
• Implements and administers programs, services, and activities for members.
• Monitors programs to ensure safety, quality, and appearance.
• Evaluates programs and adapts to member needs and diversity.
• Documents problems via injury/incident reports.
• Communicates with child care licensing and relevant authorities when applicable.
• Participates in staff meetings and training days.
• Communicates professionally with families, staff, and members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
