Job summary

Read Better Be Better is seeking part-time After-School Literacy Program Coaches to facilitate our reading program at an Alhambra School District site in Phoenix, AZ. Coaches will guide a cohort of Readers and Leaders, with training prior to start and ongoing support.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, classroom management skills, and a patient demeanor. Expect 5 hours per week with potential for more, plus weekly meetings with the Program Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Preferred candidates enrolled in a relevant degree program (i.e. teaching, educational studies, youth & early childhood development, social justice, etc).
• Experience working with children in a school setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the after-school literacy program and ensure curriculum progress.
• Promote a safe and healthy learning environment for students.
• Attend weekly coaching meetings with the Program Coordinator and participate in trainings.
